"First Date at the Electric Picnic"
10x20" Highly Textured Mixed Media on hand-splined gallery-wrapped 1.5" deep canvas. It is fitted with a sawtooth hanger ready for display. This rich landscape portrays a fantastical interpretation of spring in the Burren, a region of Ireland known for its unique rocky landscape from which springs forth an amazing array of flora. Dragonflies are an important part of the ecosystem in the Burren and if you look closely you may find some here.
The piece is primarily acrylic paints, including slivers of metallic gold, and oil paint embellishments. It is protected by a final coat of cold wax, buffed to a matte-satin finish. The edges are painted a rich blue wrapping ever-so-slightly to the front of the piece for a gentle border.
