Putting the "Bee" in BelieveIn my original art I hope you find an escape, a smile, maybe even a laugh, as I paint the joy I feel when I am knee-deep in the garden with the bees. I love to inject playful and loving humor into my art. When people say they've smiled with happiness or chuckled with delight at my work, I feel like I won the lottery. Thank you for giving my art a loving home

My StoryAfter a flinty New England upbringing, a career as a Marine, and then another as a school administrator and teacher, I turned my face to the sun, returning to a childhood love of art. I'm living my dream combining my long-time passion and talent for teaching and training with a deep love of art and craft.
You'll find me offering instruction in painting, mixed media, needle crafts, fiber, and more, in a variety of settings from private and small group sessions to larger workshops and retreats, and virtually! You will also find me in schools, summer camps, and youth programs. I teach in person in a special education environment and specialize in accessible instruction for the blind, visually impaired, learning disabled, and those suffering memory loss, dementia, and other unique challenges. I teach all ages and abilities. I live in the greater DC area with Mr. Bethcanpaint, my husband of 30 years, with whom I've successfully raised, homeschooled, and launched our now-adult daughters. In addition to the flower garden, bees, and the ocean, I adore dogs, baby necks, road trips, and cooking. Catch up with me on Instagram at @bethcanpaint. |
